Production & Materials
What is die cut vs kiss cut?
What is die cut vs kiss cut?
While kiss cut and die cut stickers may appear similar, they have key differences in their design and backing.
Die Cut Stickers: These stickers are cut to the exact shape of the design, meaning both the sticker and its backing are cut through completely. This results in a sticker that has no extra border and is shaped precisely like the artwork. Die cut stickers can also include a peel-here tab, making them easy to apply, similar to kiss cut stickers.
Kiss Cut Stickers: In contrast, kiss cut stickers have a backing that remains intact, with only the sticker layer being cut. This typically leaves a square or rectangular border around the design.
Both types can be cut into any shape using the same artwork, and once applied to a surface, they look identical.
What is the difference between a sticker and a decal?
What is the difference between a sticker and a decal?
Stickers are typically small, easy to apply and remove, and are often used on personal items like laptops, notebooks, and water bottles.
Decals, however, are a type of sticker designed for larger-scale applications and are often more durable. They are commonly used for decoration or advertising on surfaces like walls, windows, floors, and vehicles.
What is the difference between matte and gloss?
What is the difference between matte and gloss?
Matte and gloss refer to the finish of the sticker, affecting its appearance and texture:
Matte Stickers
- Have a smooth, non-shiny finish.
- Reduce glare and fingerprints.
- Easier to write on with pens or markers.
- Ideal for minimalist or vintage-style designs.
Gloss Stickers
- Have a shiny, reflective surface.
- Make colors appear more vibrant and saturated.
- Can be harder to write on.
- Great for eye-catching, colorful designs.
If you want something sleek and modern, go for matte. If you prefer bold, high-contrast designs, choose gloss.
